“NEC 70E states a thermographic inspection of all electrical assets should be performed annually. In addition many insurance companies request or require this done and sometimes offer a discount when in compliance. Infrared cameras can detect hidden moisture problems and then be verified with core samples. By pinpointing the problem, it is conceivable the problem can be resolved without a complete tear off which could save thousands of dollars.
